Write!!
I began writing this post last night. But I lost all when I went to another site directly from the editor workspace. I thought my entries would still be there when I paged back; but only a blank work area remained. I’ll have to remember not to do that! "Write and Save"; "Write and Save".
For a month there hasn’t been a new post on Black River Music Word. Last night I simply tried to put something down even if it would be lame rationalizations on why I have been so lax in producing content. In truth the reasons for not keeping up with the blog are both laziness and frustration. I will not bore with explaining the latter. I simply hope that this simple exercise of typing in what I am now typing in will overcome my writing inertia.
A little to my credit, I did begin the composition of what will be drumming exercise #3. It’s not much in content and should have been available here weeks ago. The exercise is in the same theme as the previous one: improving the "weak hand". It will be called: Same-Handed Paradiddle Exercise and should be posted presently.
Also, (as an excuse for my current omissions) I’ve spent a considerable time looking at various drumming and drum related blogs and news releases. There are some excellent drumming blogs out there. I hope I can some day make this blog as good.
The big thing in the drumming news releases currently is the rock-drummers vs footballers (soccer players) in stamina tests that had surprising results. The reports are all over the Internet and I won’t comment on them. But if you haven’t seen the articles yet, here’s one from Australia: Rock Drummers Match Stamina of Top Footballers.
I will close this post with this wonderful video of Ray King playing the buckets at Union Square station. It’s not just Mr. King’s excellent chops but also the beautiful videography of Taiki Sugioka. I especially like the closing where the camera pulls away from the performer while both subways pull away from the platforms. Very dramatic! I hope you enjoy it.
